Surf or kitesurf: what changes in the app?

You pick your disciplines the first time you open the app, and can change them later in the settings. The map filters by discipline. A spot used for both gets one tab per discipline: swell, period and type of break for surfing; wind in knots, gusts, water conditions and hazards for kiting.

A spot near you is missing?

Suggest it at contact@seewave.surf, with its name and, ideally, its location (a map link is perfect). We add spots regularly.

Do I need an account?

No. The app works as soon as it's installed, with no sign-up. An account (email and password, or your Google account) only lets you find your favorite spots on all your devices.

I'm changing phones: how do I get my data back?

Without an account, your data is saved for that device only: a new phone starts from scratch. Create an account (email and password, or Google) on your current phone: your favorites are then saved to it. On the new phone, sign in with the same account and your favorites are back.

How do I get notified when conditions are good?

On a spot's page, tap the bell. For surfing: days of the week, wave height and period, water and air temperature. For kiting: days, wind strength, maximum gusts and air temperature. When the conditions are there on the spot, SeeWave sends you a notification.

What do the colors on a spot's data mean?

Green: perfect. Cyan: good. Orange: poor. Red: very poor. The scale works both ways: swell that's too small and swell that's too big both turn orange, then red.

Knots, km/h, meters, feet: can I choose my units?

Yes. Wind can be shown in km/h, mph or knots, temperatures in °C or °F, heights in meters or feet. The kite tab always shows wind in knots, the kitesurfers' reference unit. The app is available in English and French.

Does the app work without a connection?

Partly. Your spots, your favorites and the map areas you've already viewed stay available. On Wi-Fi, the weather map is downloaded in advance for the next 48 hours around your favorites. A spot's detailed forecast needs a connection.

How do I get the app?

The Android beta is open now. Sign up with your Google account email in the beta form: we email you the invitation link, then you install SeeWave from Google Play.

Do I need an Android phone for the beta?

Yes. The beta goes through Google Play, so you need an Android phone signed in with the Google account you signed up with. With another address, the invitation won't work.

Do I have to pay during the beta?

No. During the beta, Premium and Pro are offered to all testers so they can test every feature.

Can I leave the beta?

Yes, at any time. Write to us at contact@seewave.surf and we'll remove your address. Details on the Privacy page.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings, Account, Delete my account. Deletion is immediate. Without the app, write to us: everything is explained on the Delete your account page.

How can I contact you?

By email, at contact@seewave.surf. We read every message.
