Terms of use
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This is a translation of the French original, which prevails in case of discrepancy.
These terms govern the use of the SeeWave app and the seewave.surf website (together, the "service"). By using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Publisher
The service is published by Elisa Allart and Maxime Casas. Full details are in the legal notice. Contact: contact@seewave.surf.
The service
SeeWave shows swell, wind, tide and temperature forecasts for surf and kitesurf spots, and can send you an alert when conditions match your criteria.
Access and account
The app works as soon as it is installed, with no sign-up. You can create an account, with an email address or your Google account, to find your favorites on several devices.
- You provide accurate information and keep your password confidential.
- You are responsible for what is done from your account.
- Accounts are for people aged 15 and over; under 15, a parent's consent is required.
Premium plans
Some features, such as a longer forecast range, are part of paid Premium plans. Their content, price and duration are shown in the app before any purchase.
- Purchase and payment go through Google Play or the App Store, under that store's terms.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it in your Google Play or Apple account settings before the end of the current period.
- Refund requests follow the rules of the store where the purchase was made.
- If a plan's price changes, the new price applies from the next renewal, after prior notice.
Nature of forecasts and safety
Forecasts are computed from weather and ocean models. They are estimates: they can be wrong and differ from actual conditions on site. Alerts may arrive late or not at all.
SeeWave does not replace your own judgment or official information. Before going in the water, check the conditions, take your level and gear into account, and follow local regulations, lifeguard instructions and official weather bulletins. Surfing and kitesurfing are at your own risk.
What you agree not to do
- Extract or reuse the service's data by automated means (scraping, bots, resale).
- Try to bypass a plan's limits, disrupt the service or access data that is not yours.
- Use the service unlawfully.
In case of breach, access to the service may be suspended or the account deleted, after notifying you except in an emergency.
Intellectual property
The app, the website, their texts, visuals and the SeeWave name belong to the publisher. Weather, ocean and map data belong to their producers, credited in the legal notice. You have a personal, non-commercial right to use the service.
Availability
We do our best to keep the service running, without being able to guarantee it: maintenance or an outage at a data provider or host may interrupt it. Features and the list of spots may change.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for damage resulting from a decision made on the basis of forecasts or alerts, or from an interruption of the service. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law.
Personal data
How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy.
Ending use
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account, as explained on the Delete your account page. Cancel any subscription in Google Play or the App Store first: deleting your account does not stop it.
Changes
These terms may change with the service. The last update date is shown at the top of the page; for significant changes, we let you know in the app.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, write to us first at contact@seewave.surf. Failing agreement, French courts have jurisdiction.
