Delete your account
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This is a translation of the French original, which prevails in case of discrepancy.
This page explains how to delete your account in the SeeWave Android app (identifier surf.seewave.app) and what happens to each piece of your data.
From the app
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Tap Delete my account and confirm.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. It also works if you use the app without an account: your anonymous identifier and everything linked to it are deleted the same way. The app then starts from scratch.
By email
If you no longer have the app, email contact@seewave.surf from the email address of your account, with the subject “Delete my SeeWave account”. We confirm we have received your request, then confirm again once the deletion is done.
Write the deletion request (opens your email app with the message pre-filled).
If you no longer have access to that email address, write to us anyway with the account's address: we will ask you to confirm it belongs to you.
What is deleted
- Your account, your email address and, if applicable, the link to your Google account.
- Your synced favorite spots.
- Your alerts and their criteria, and your devices' notification identifiers.
- Your practiced disciplines and the date you last used the app.
Timing
From the app, deletion is immediate. An email request is handled within 30 days at most. No data linked to the account is kept after that, except the request email itself, kept for one year at most so we can prove the deletion was done.
No account?
Without an account, the app works with an anonymous identifier, which holds neither your name nor your email address. Your favorites and preferences stay on your phone: uninstalling the app erases them.
Your alerts and practiced disciplines, however, are stored on our server with that identifier. To erase them, use Delete my account before uninstalling the app: without it, we can no longer identify you.
